These men are dark, bold, and brave. And there is only one woman who can bring them to their knees...
Famed and brilliant, Lady Alexandra Lane has always known how to look out for to herself. But nobody would ever expect that she has darkness in her past—one that she pays a blackmailer to keep buried. Now, with her family nearing bankruptcy, Alexandra strikes upon a solution: Get married to one of the empire’s most wealthy eligible bachelors. Even if he does have the reputation of a devil.
LOVE TAKES NO PRISONERS
Piers Gedrick Atherton, the Duke of Redmayne, is seeking revenge and the first step is securing a bride. Winning a lady’s hand is not so easy, however, for a man known as the Terror of Torcliff. Then, Alexandra enters his life like a bolt of lightning. When she proposes marriage, Piers knows that, like him, trouble haunts her footsteps. But her gentleness, sharp wit, independent nature, and incredible beauty awakens every fierce desire within him. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe in his arms.

Before I delve into my review of How To Love A Duke In Ten Days by Kerrigan Byrne I want to let readers know about the trigger warning within its story. (There is a rape scene within this story so beware). Maybe you’ve already read the book and know this but if you’re reading this review I wouldn’t feel right unless I disclosed this information to you since I was having trouble getting through this particular portion of the story. Now that I’ve disclosed that information to you all I now feel that I can jump into the review …
From the start of this story to its last page I found myself really enjoying the story of How To Love A Duke In Ten Days. There were moments where I felt there was too much dialogue and not enough action, especially past the halfway mark, but as always with a Kerrigan Byrne story everything works together for the satisfying ending. Despite that though the defining moments within this story didn’t so much come from finding out who the villain would be or their purpose in going against the protagonist, but from The Red Rogues (Alexandra, Francesca, and Cecilia) and Pier’s character’s, interactions, and past moments.
If you’ve read Kerrigan Byrne’s Victorian Rebels series then you know how in-depth and consuming her mysteries were, but in reading How To Love A Duke In Ten Days you’ll learn that she gives us equal amounts of romance, mystery, suspense, and dark elements. Regardless of her other historical romance series you’ll find that there aren’t any comparisons to be made. Byrne does a great job of bringing the originality and authenticity to every story she writes despite the over saturation of an era, period, or location within this genre.
So to summarize my thoughts on How To Love A Duke In Ten Days by Kerrigan Byrne, outside of my four star review, I would have to say that it’s story was un-put-downable. From when I started to the time that I finished, late night reading on the 15th of August, I couldn’t put my phone down from wanting to read this book. I even found myself prolonging the last few chapters because I didn’t want to story to end and I be left with having to find another story. I guess I will just have to be content in knowing that the Cecilia’s story will be next if the epilogue was anything to go by. So, happy reading!
