Then the first dead body is found, victim of a familiar madness. Judd is her only hope, yet her sensual changeling side rebels against the inhuman chill of his personality, even as desire explodes between them. Shocking and raw, their passion is a danger that threatens not only their hearts, but their very lives...
"The alpha author of paranormal romance." - Booklist
It’s getting to the point where I’m finding it hard to figure out which book I love more. At first I thought that Slave to Sensation was my favorite, and then Visions of Heat came along. When I thought that book would be my favorite I then read Caressed by Ice by Nalini Singh, so now I am unsure as to which of the books that I have read so far in this Psy-Changelings series I love most.
Judd was one sexy mama-jama. I can completely relate as to why Brenna felt like she would combust anytime he was around!
This book, I believe, sets the stage for the inevitable war against the Psy Council that has been brewing since book one.
The main obstacle between the Dark River and Snow Dancer Changeling packs has just been resolved and it goes by the name of Judd Lauren. I knew that Judd was at the top somewhere on the predator food chain, I just didn’t know how dangerous he truly was. In books 1 & 2 it always boggled my mind that both packs either downright disliked Judd or was wary of him, but were accepting of the other Laurens. In Caressed by Ice, I was able to fully understand the threat that Judd presented to those who wouldn’t and couldn’t accept a wildcard into their lives because they had others counting on their strength and discernment.
I never would’ve picked Brenna for Judd, simply because I saw their interactions as father/daughter just because of her mental state after her attack and how Judd responded and helped in the aftermath. The fact that we really never got a true glimpse of her character before the incident added fuel to this perception. I’m so happy that that relationship was not in any way true, because for 1. Brenna is a hot head and very passionate and 2. Brenna ends up being the only character in this Psy-Changelings world that could bring Judd from under the conditions placed on him while he held his position as an Arrow. She was fire to his ice.
Caressed By Ice by Nalini Singh impacted me more, I want to say, than the ones before it (this might be the after effects of just finishing the book). I loved everything about this story, I wouldn’t change a thing.
