Miller Spurlock might seem like a laid back man on the outside, but piss him off, or violate his trust, and he’ll show you the meaning of pain.
He was a Navy SEAL. He could kill a man a hundred different ways and not break a sweat.
He’s also a police officer and member of the SWAT team, which means he has the knowledge and skills to get away with it.
Rage boils in his gut when he witnesses what happens to the beautiful Mercy Shepherd during a SWAT op from hell that even his worst nightmare couldn't conjure up. And it surprises the hell out of him when she wants him, and him only, to comfort her in the aftermath.
Miller becomes the one shining beacon of light at the bottom of Mercy’s pit of despair.
The one man that could pull her through the rough days ahead and make her whole again.
And during her road back to herself, she realizes that she’s got the one thing she ever wanted in life…a hero to call her own.

Can I say it, I think I can, matter of fact I know I can because this is my freaking review… Miller’s book, Execution Style by Lani Lynn Vale, was better than Downy’s, Double Tap. Downy, my love, please don’t hate me, you’re still my sexy ginger-headed highlander!
This book was mind-blowing from cover to the sneak peak into the next book. I think with these books I am stuck in alpha overload because I seriously had a hard time remembering who Miller, Foster, or even Sam was! I felt super embarrassed when I messaged the author with demands that Sam needed his own book to not only be reminded by the author herself, but also my own recollection of my kindle collection, that Sam’s book was the first book that Lani Lynn Vale wrote! Talk about an awkward moment!
Since I’m not a beer drinker it took me a minute to put two and two together that Miller and Foster are Trance’s brothers. This kind of forgetfulness is the reason why you need to be caught up on all the books of your favorite authors, or have a chart sitting somewhere.
This author’s ability to spin a story out of the most unlikely and sometimes socially uncomfortable places still boggles my mind, because she does it almost effortlessly. Execution Style provided the best example of this.
Our heroine, Mercy, enters on the scene in the most horrible way possible. My heart hurt for her, and with a clear glimpse into Miller’s emotions in that opening scene one cannot help but be taken through this unbelievable scene as he is witnessing this atrocity happening to Mercy. The heart warming part is that Miller comes to her rescue and selflessly takes care of Mercy in a way that just melted my freaking heart. This scene right here was when I fell in love with quite possibly my book boyfriend of 2015. I was just a pile of warm goo.
Miller wasn’t that much of a complex character, and in no way was that a bad thing. He was very honest and out in the open about who he was and didn’t care if anybody, outside of Mercy, didn’t like it. I almost got ready to say that Miller was more alpha than Sam but I couldn’t honestly say that because Sam is a bad mama jamma. I think the only one to give Sam a run for his money would have to be dear ole dad, Silas. Hot man on a stick he’s fine! Anyway, on the alpha scale Miller would come second…shoot, now I just remembered that James in all his sniper glory is pretty big and bad as well. Ugh! I give up, there is no scale when it comes to these men that Lani Lynn Vale has created.
Between Mercy dealing with what she went through, Miller keeping the whole town off her back, and both of them fighting to survive crazy lunatics who are jealous windbags, this book took me out of a month long book funk. I seriously hated when it ended, but I just couldn’t put Execution Style by Lani Lynn Vale down!
