Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley

With Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley came the conclusion of my Dream Man series reread. Also, with this multi-layered story came an revelation in my reading preferences. Before I opened the pages to Motorcycle Man I couldn’t help but remember that from my previous read of its story there was something within it that left a bad taste in my mouth, but I couldn’t pinpoint what it was. Upon rereading Motorcycle Man my memory was refreshed and I was able to understand what fed into this feeling, the certain actions from Tack towards Tyra. Tyra Masters was the embodiment of the type of heroine I would’ve envisioned for Tack’s character, but Tack at first wasn’t the hero that I would’ve picked for her. Tyra was pretty much an open book, and as soon as Motorcycle Man began you knew what her hopes and desires were when it comes to romance, but Tack showed that he wasn’t […]

Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley

Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley

Why O why was I so hesitant to read Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley before now?! Being an emotional reader can sometimes suck huge donkey balls. If you can’t tell by the kicking of my own butt in that first statement I loved Fire Inside. In the reading of its story there might’ve been a moment between Hop and Lanie that I would’ve liked to not have taken place because I felt that it ramped up the drama between them two to maximum levels, but now that I’ve finished I wouldn’t change anything about Fire Inside. Fire Inside wasn’t how I envisioned a story set in the Chaos world to be. First it was more of a contemporary romance than a romantic suspense as Own the Wind and Motorcycle Man, which I thought was odd since Own the Wind left things somewhat in the air about the whole Benito situation. […]

Rock Chick Reawakening by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Reawakening by Kristen Ashley

Nothing could’ve prepared me for the gut punch and love story that Rock Chick Reawakening by Kristen Ashley produced between Daisy and Marcus, not even the other Rock Chick books. I will admit that outside of who he was for Daisy I never paid much attention to Marcus, and after finishing Rock Chick Reawakening I’m both happy and sad about this. If he somehow exhibited everything that makes him freaking awesome in the previous Rock Chick books I would seriously feel like I missed out, and if he didn’t I’m glad that I was able to officially meet him in this story. Right out the gate Rock Chick Reawakening had me all in my feelings, crying and junk – y’all know how KA’s books can be. I wasn’t ready nor was I expecting this immediate of an emotional response. I know that it was alluded to Daisy having a catastrophic […]

Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley

Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley

Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley is unlike any contemporary romance, or romantic suspense story I’ve ever had the privilege to read and then re-read. In all the books I have read, I’ve never come across characters that Ashley thinks up and then places them within stories that transport you into another place, situation, and life. That’s why I’m glad that I’m not a writer because I know that I don’t have it in me to weave the type of stories that you can’t do anything but sit back and try not to get lost in everything that’s going on. I love the simple fact that I can jump into any Kristen Ashley story both knowing that I’ll get to experience it’s story with new eyes and that I’ll get to fall in love with a favorite read all over again. There was a time when I was not a fan […]

Walk Through Fire by Kristen Ashley

Walk Through Fire by Kristen Ashley

Walk Through Fire by Kristen Ashley wasn’t what I thought it was going to be! The surprises continued from the beginning and carried on throughout the rest of the story. For a few reasons, I found myself skimming parts of Walk Through Fire: The way Walk Through Fire started; along with what I read from the synopsis, I knew its story would emotionally gut me. Seriously, I felt it was necessary to go ahead and get the punishment over and done with. The more I read, I knew I needed to quickly get to the climax. With patience, I knew I would have had a nervous breakdown. I needed Millie and High to their HEA (happy ever after) and to have all the angst stop. I said all of that to say, it was necessary to skim. With everything that went on in this story, it would’ve been impossible to read […]
