Soul of a Demon by Jamie Begley

Soul of a Demon by Jamie Begley

I already gave a snippet of my thoughts of Soul of a Demon by Jamie Begley in my review of Soul of a Woman, but I’ll use this space to further elaborate on why I’m both glad and disappointed that I pushed through this series. Opposite to how Soul of a Woman started Soul of a Demon by Jamie Begley picked up exactly where the previous story left off which left me excited for this particular story. Sadly that excitement died a sure and quick death when the story took turns and dips that I was both not expecting nor all that fond of. While I admired Cara and Broni’s strength and backbone when it came to the circumstances that were thrown their way, I quickly became irritated with Zerina’s character because of how snooty she acted when faced with the reality that she was stuck in the Underworld. Even […]

Since it’s not in my nature to leave things unfinished, I decided to pick up the remaining books in The Dark Souls series starting with Soul of a Woman by Jamie Begley and ending with Soul of a Demon. I knew with the topsy turvy feelings I had towards Soul of a Man that maybe I should’ve let bygone be bygones but I couldn’t compute the fact that I hadn’t given all of Begley’s stories a chance. So, as you can see I’ve been guilted into reading the remaining books in this series by my own conscious. Soul of a Woman did not start off where Soul of a Man left at. I was actually confused on where we left off at because of the how the prologue was presented to us in this installment. It wasn’t until the end of the book that the prologue made sense and I […]

Teased by Jamie Begley

Teased by Jamie Begley

When I first entered into the book community (something I didn’t think was even a thing) Teased by Jamie Begley was one of the first books I remember reading and loving then. At the time I thought that Teased was the greatest thing I had ever read in the Erotica genre, but after this last re-read I’ve realized that I might’ve embellished some things. For some reason I thought that the romance between Colton and Vida was the best thing smokin’, but things in the end seemed rushed and absent. It seemed like after they consummated their romance things were somewhat stagnant and then fast forwarded to the ending that would set up Sawyer’s (Vida’s best friend – or at least one of the two best friends that were mentioned) story. If you’ve read Jamie Begley’s Last Riders series then you know about the characters in Teased already – although […]

I’ve had Soul of a Man by Jamie Begley on my kindle shelves for I don’t know how long. I know it’s not reflected on my blog but I am a HUGE Begley fan, other than the remaining two stories in this particular series I have every book she’s ever written. With me turning to the ending if Soul of Man though I’m really kicking myself in the butt for waiting so long, but who knows I might’ve not appreciated its story if I would’ve dived into it as soon as I bought it way back when. In my opinion Begley is famous for her MC and rock star series (VIP Room, The Last Riders MC, Biker Bitches, and Predators), so when I found out about her fantasy series I will admit that I was highly skeptical because usually authors, that I have encountered, have a hard time transitioning into […]

Merry Blissmas by Jamie Begley

Merry Blissmas by Jamie Begley

Merry Blissmas by Jamie Begley, without having opened the pages yet, was a challenge for me. The main character, Bliss, was a very disliked character for all the Last Riders books and Sex Piston’s book, and for me to feel the way I felt about her it was causing some problems as to my likability of the direction of all the stories (interconnected or not) and the characters. I even had thoughts of if I should just pass on Merry Blissmas. In my eyes, there was nothing, other than dealing with a case of the Body Snatchers, that Bliss could do to redeem herself after all the dirt and disrespect she perpetrated throughout the books before Merry Blissmas. Before, Bliss’ character was just like Raci, Evie, and Jewel, a member of the Last Riders willing to anything for them, outsiders be damned. It wasn’t until Shade, and she started coming […]
