Levi Carrillo, main male character in Sweet Soul by Tillie Cole, was dealt a crappy hand, well all the Carrillo brothers were, but unlike Axel and Austin, Levi has been battling his demons silently to the point where he was dying a slow and agonizing death. In order to save him and help him back to the brother that was so open to affection as we saw in Sweet Fall, something/someone needed to came along and shake the walls that he had built around himself. At first I was hoping that the person/woman to do this for him would be the red-head cheerleader that kept making googly eyes at him while he practiced on the field. “What words,” I ask myself, “can I use that will adequately explain the magnitude of excellence of Sweet Hope by Tillie Cole?” If you’ve read my reviews before you’ll know that I have loved every Tillie Cole story I’ve ever read, but (now bear with me) I truly believe that this book is not only her best book out of this series (from what I’ve read so far – I haven’t read Sweet Rome yet) but I truly believe this is her best book period. She really outdid herself with this one and brought this series to an end in the purest and most perfect way possible. In the previous books we rarely got a glimpse into who Ally really was.
