"FOR FRACTURED SOULS ARE LIKE MAGNETS.
DRAWN TO COLLIDE INTO AN IMPOSSIBLE BLISS…"
Labeled a ‘Cursed’ woman of Eve from birth, Maddie has endured nothing but pain and repression at the hands of The Order’s most abusive elder, Moses. Now living with her sister in The Hangmen’s secluded compound, finally, Maddie, is free. Free from the suffocating faith she no longer believes in. Free from endless years of physical and mental torment.
At age twenty-one, the timid and shy Maddie is content to live within the confines of her new home—safe from the outside world, safe from harm and, strangely, protected by the Hangmen’s most volatile member; the heavily pierced and tattooed, Flame.
The man who ceaselessly watches over her with his midnight dark and searing eyes. The man who protects her with a breath-taking intensity. And the man who stirs something deep within her numbed heart.
But when circumstances conspire for Flame to need HER help, Maddie bravely risks it all for the broken man who has captivated her fragile soul.
The Hangmen’s most infamous member, Flame, is ruled by one thing—anger. Plagued by haunting demons from his past, an all-consuming rage, and isolated by an abhorrent hatred of being touched, Flame's days are filled with suffocating darkness, pierced only by a single ray of light—Maddie. The shy, beautiful woman he cannot purge from his thoughts. The woman he has an overwhelming need to possess…
... the only person who has ever been able to touch him.
Flame’s mission in life is to protect Maddie, to keep her safe. Until a trigger from his troubled past sends him spiraling into madness, trapping him in the deepest recesses of his disturbed mind.
His Hangmen brothers fear that Flame is beyond saving.
His only hope of salvation: Maddie and her healing light.
The 5 stars that I’ve rated Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole, doesn’t seem like enough to exhibit how amazing this book was. Although, I will try my best in this review to express the greatness of this book, I honestly don’t think words have been invented that could ever do it justice.
Flame and Maddie were introduced to me quite unexpectedly. When they were introduced to me I was on a HUGE MC kick, so It Ain’t Me, Babe became my selection. Once I one-clicked it, and read it, I was instantly in love (no foreplay needed). The funny thing was that while I loved reading about Styx and Mae, Flame became the character who made my heart beat faster, and who grabbed my focus as soon as he stepped on the scene. He became my main man out of this series, and when he met Maddie for the first time I was gone for them both. That’s when I knew then that their story was going to be ground-breakingly epic.
The vision that the author had for these two characters became more perfect and clear when we got a deeper look into who Maddie was in Heart Recaptured. While Heart Recaptured was about Lilah and Ky, Maddie and Flame’s relationship, however minimal it was then, was also featured with the baby steps and nonverbal actions (that spoke volumes) they made towards each other.
Waiting for Flame and Maddie’s book took patience I didn’t believe I had, but I did it. The only expectations I had for Souls Unfractured were for Flame and Maddie to be together in the end. The wishful thought I had while reading was for Prophet Cain to be killed, but since reading Souls Unfractured I now know that won’t happened for many reason. One being that Mae thinks he can be redeemed, another being that the author sees something special in him since she’s scheduled a book for him. Now, after reading, I’m somewhat curious as to what his story could be about, because he has even bigger problems to worry about now than what the Hades Hangmen MC could be up to, lol (I don’t mean to laugh but karma is a mother%$*er).
I had complete trust in Tillie Cole to do Flame and Maddie’s story right, there wasn’t a doubt in my mind that this book was going to be epic. I am beyond glad that my expectations were met and then exceeded.
Gah! I’m sitting here thinking on where I should start trying to put into words how bad this book dug its claws into me, but the words that come aren’t big enough to express every scene, every moment, everything that took place. Since the words won’t come I can at least describe what feelings I experienced.
The scenes that led up to the moment where Maddie and Flame realized how much they needed each other made my heart literally melt so much I felt tears prick my eyes and an ugly cry crawl up my throat and almost out my mouth.
When Maddie experienced the pain and suffering Flame goes through, I felt my heart break for both Maddie because she had to witness it, and for Flame because he was going through it.
The scene where imbeciles and fools thought they could harm Flame’s heart, I felt a surge of vengeance bubble through my veins in complete agreement with unleashing all that Flame embodies upon them.
Lastly, and most importantly, when Flame and Maddie first came together I felt immense joy at how beautiful and right it was. This scene both broke me and put me back together again, there was nothing like it.
I hope these feelings show that this book has all the feels you could ever look for in a great, life-altering book.
I won’t say anything more because I have no more words, hopefully other reviews will be able to give a greater picture of what this story will be like.
WOW, that’s what I’ll leave you with, just wow.
